Love/Hate relationship:
I love, yes, LOVE this book, til death do we part.
I really did love this book. Written by Andrew Bridge, Hope's Boy is the story of his childhood, first with his mother then in foster care. Bridge describes his refusal to give up on her and, ultimately, her refusal to abandon him. A gifted writer, Bridge is now a children's rights lawyer, working for children in foster care. The book has a strong and steady narrative voice that carries the reader to its redeeming conclusion. A worthy and excellent read!
Date you read it, or plan to read it -- never is not an option!:
