Welcome!

Bookspoke Newsletter

Hello from Bookspoke! In this newsletter, we're introducing a new feature -- our favorite post published on the site: Hamlett's post about Wally. We've also published Prism, which is now available on Amazon and Bookspoke. Finally, for those of you who are writers looking for help with the publishing process, we had a great meetup that we've
videoed and put on our site.

Our Favorite Post

A lot of you have been posting stories, book reviews, and much more on Bookspoke since we launched about a month and a half ago, and we've been reading each one. We love Hamlett's, "It All Began With Wally," a post about an aspiring screenwriter looking for advice and affirmation on his first script. It had us rolling on the floor laughing, and we bet it will crack you up, too. You can find it here:

If you want one of your posts to appear in this newsletter, it's easy -- just write something on Bookspoke. We read every post (from book reviews to books we publish), and we've got pretty broad tastes. We'll pick a new feature every newsletter.

Published Books

On a bit of a personal note, Bookspoke has published my first novel, Prism. This book is about 5 twenty-somethings bumbling their way through their lives in New York. It's for sale right now on Amazon, and you can find it here:

http://www.bookspoke.com/books/1434816281

The Buy Now button will take you to Amazon, and for those of you who are Prime members, this is eligible for free shipping under that program (you can also find the book through Amazon's search). If you're interested in learning more about Bookspoke's no-upfront-cost print-on-demand technology (all costs, except for those of the initial proof copy, are taken out of sales, but writers still get a 20%-30% royalty on all books sold), click on the Print On Demand option on the Write Menu from any Bookspoke page. We're also putting all of our books on Google Book Search.

Our First Writers Marketing Meetup

Many of you who are based in the New York area were able to attend our first writers marketing meetup, where Isobella Jade talked about how she got press for her self-published book, Almost 5'4, and Marion Maneker spoke about what publishers are looking for. To see the video of the
event (or to download it), go to:

If you are interested in starting a meetup in your area or you would like to speak at our next one in New York (scheduled for late January/early February), let me know. I'll help you get it set up.

Until Next Time!
