The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie.
It's under young adult, but it is funny and heart-breaking at the same time. A quick, fun, read.
I read Water for Elephants on my honeymoon and really enjoyed it. It is a great read that is both tragic and uplifting. I highly suggest it for a mini vacation!
