Bookspoke offers different services to provide for different members needs.

If you want to join as a reader, it’s free. Bookspoke will help you discover new books and writers. We just need some information about you and how to contact you so that we can provide you with early looks at forthcoming books based on your own preferences and interests. We never sell or share your information with anyone without your explicit permission.

You can also use Bookspoke to manage your Book Club better—or start a new one online. Once you’ve signed up and created a user profile, you’ll have the tools to create your own reading groups and include your friends.

Finally, Bookspoke is suite of tools for writers. The service is free while we’re in our Beta phase, but eventually we’ll be charging writers $15.95 for every four months (that’s $3.95 each month with the first month free.) Bookspoke will give you advanced notice before we start charging your credit card; however, you must provide us with credit card information before you can establish a writer’s account.

One feature that comes with membership as a writer is the ability to build an list of fans who are interested in receiving news about your forthcoming or published works. Books, magazine or newspaper articles and web content can all be promoted through your Bookspoke page. And your readers will be able to respond through forum discussions.

But that’s not all, writers will be able to email their subscribers links to new work that’s being published exclusively through Bookspoke.com. (More on that below.)

Writers will also have the ability to designate some members as Advance Readers. Those members will be able to read and comment on the writer’s work. Writer’s can use this feature to collaborate with a group of trusted readers as editors. Writer’s can also use this feature to let devoted fans see forthcoming work.

Writers will also be able to use Bookspoke’s e-commerce facilities sell their work. On Bookspoke a writer can post a file digitally and charge readers for each pdf downloaded. In addition, Bookspoke will eventually offer print-on-demand services so you can post a book-length work on your Bookspoke page. Your reades will have the option of buying it in book form or in digital form. If they buy the pdf, they’ll get it immediatlely. Should they prefer a bound book, Bookspoke will fulfill the order. Either way, a Bookspoke writer will receive a substantial share of the purchase price.

Finally, Bookspoke gives writers the tools to manage their audience and find out what their readers like and what they don’t like about their works through an exclusive algorithm that we have developed in-house.
